Even though Federal Minister for Education confirmed that there would be no extension to the use of remaining LDCPDP funding, the Federal Department's latest notice provides the following helpful clarifications:

  • that the use of LDCPDP funding in accordance to the Guidelines as published in their Frequently Asked Questions dated August 2016 must be expensed by 30 June 2017; and
  • that the use of LDCPDP funding after 30 June 2017 and before 30 September 2017 must constitute eligible expenditure as stated in the Funding Guidelines, and meet the requirements of the Guidelines that they be commensurate with the needs of the educator, represent value for money and be able to withstand public scrutiny and not bring the Commonwealth into disrepute.

Accordingly, the Financial Report must still be provided by 30 September 2017, providing any expenditures that occurred by 30 June 2017, including those not acquitted until 30 September 2017, along with reasonable estimation for such expenses as well as the associated methodology, calculations and supporting documentation.
