What is Star Wars Day?

Star Wars Day occuring on May 4th, is a fun day for Star Wars fans. This fan day occurs on May 4th because - "May the 4th be with you", is similar to the famous line from the movies "May the force be with you". Star Wars fans celebrate by watching all the movies, dressing up as their favourite star wars character and enjoying all things star wars related. Fans around the world father to share their excitement for Star Wars.

Activities:

  • Star Wars Storytime: Gather the children for a special Star Wars-themed Storytime featuring age-appropriate Star Wars books or picture books set in space
  • Space-themed Crafts: Provide materials for space-themed crafts that preschoolers can enjoy. Ideas include making paper plate spaceships, creating galaxy-themed paintings using sponges and glitter, or constructing Yoda or Darth Vader masks out of paper bags.
  • Lightsabre Training: Use foam pool noodles or cardboard tubes to create safe lightsabres for the children to wield. Set up an obstacle course or designated area where they can practice their lightsabre skills, such as swinging, blocking, and dodging imaginary enemies.
  • Costume Parade: Encourage children to come dressed as their favourite Star Wars characters. Organize a costume parade where each child can show off their outfit
