Tips on Expanding / Renovating ECEC Centres

For 2022, the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) NSW has updated and expanded its Quickies series of short but to the point presentations that help existing and new providers.

The ACA NSW Quickies are only 2 hours or less and held throughout the year in face-to-face, live webinar and video-on-demand formats. They are for Approved Providers, Owners, Directors and Nominated Supervisors with industry-specific information, advice, tips and even “tricks”.

Developed jointly with Design Cubicle, this ACA NSW Quickie will help you understand the planning, building, local government and other regulatory requirements in anticipation of renovating and/or expanding your new early childhood education and care centre to ensure its educational, operational and financial success.

The topics to be covered in the ACA NSW Quickies – Tips on Expanding/Renovating ECEC Centres are:

  • What are the new/emerging design trends and how do they benefit early childhood education and care services and their children?
  • How to expand/renovate centres so that they are COVIDsafe?
  • What are the benefit vs cost “sweet spots”?
  • Can the expansion/renovation be future proofed as much as possible?
  • Does the NSW State Environmental Planning Policy (Educational Establishments and Child Care Facilities) 2017 (ie the SEPP) apply?
  • What to know about local councils’ rules about development applications (DA) for new childcare centres?
