
What is USA Independence Day?
The USA Independence Day celebrates the day the Declaration of Independence which declared the United States as an independent country and no longer under the rule of Great Britain. This day is a national federal holiday in the United States and celebrated within communities around the whole country. Celebration can includes flying the US flag and wearing red, white, and blue. Many bands play patriotic songs like The Star Spangled Banner, America the Beautiful, and God Bless America.
Other ways to celebrate include parades, baseball games, musical concerts, and outdoor picnics. This celebration is in the middle of summer and many of the celebration take place outdoors.
When is USA Independence Day?
Tuesday, 4th July
Activities:
- Dress up in colours of the USA flag for the day
- Firework Painting (infant rooms)
- Turn white daisies red and blue
- Create fireworks with peppermints
- Experiment with homemade straw rockets
- Practice patterning and fine motor skills by beading red, blue and white bracelets
- Grab red, white and blue bowls and set up a competitive bean bag toss
- Turn a milk carton and string into a festive button spinner
- Plan and have your own USA Independence parade with the children getting dressed up in the colours of the American flag, having a picnic and hosting americal games for the children to experience.
- Intentional Teaching; learning about America, the states and much more.
