Templates/Documentary Assistance with Jury Duty

Many of our member services have sought guidance on managing staff called for jury duty, particularly with employees often reluctant to serve and the added challenge of sourcing replacements amidst ongoing educator shortages. The increased number of summonses from the NSW Department of Justice directed at educators and teachers may reflect the trust placed in them as responsible and reliable members of the community.

As an exclusive member benefit, if you require assistance in excusing staff from Jury Duty, please follow the steps below:

Step 1

Email nsw@childcarealliance.org.au the below information;

  • Provide the Juror letter that your educator received in the mail
  • Which service they work at
  • The Services address
  • How many children are enrolled per day
  • How many staff are rostered per day
Step 2 Our Member Support Officers will create a customised supporting letter from ACA NSW providing providing further official Federal Government evidence of the challenges faced by service providers to recruit staff. The letter from ACA NSW will be specific for the member's who are Approved Providers and staff.
Step 3 Our Member Support Officers will respond back to you with the customised supporting letter from ACA NSW, supporting evidence, and two documents that will need to be completed by both the juror and the service
Step 4                     All documents will then be mailed out to the provided address or, you can submit online following the instructions on the back of the form.

For any further information/clarification/assistance, please contact the ACA NSW office on 1300 556 330 or e-mail nsw@childcarealliance.org.au.
