Members will be aware of ACA NSW's years-long efforts for truth and justice since that fateful August 2023.
Today, the animal was finally extradited to NSW to stand trial for at least 180 charges for alleged offences against 23 NSW children.
It must not be forgotten that the Australian Federal Police, the NSW Police and Queensland Police announced a total of 1,623 charges and yet only 307 convictions have to date been recorded.
This represents a 21.3% conviction rate of all charges, which for NSW begs many questions, including:
Will all NSW charges conclude with full convictions?
If not, what were not able to be proven and why?
What were the systemic/structural weaknesses and failures (including comprehensive, effective and trusted whistleblower protections)?
Of course, the most important question of all is: Have all the weaknesses and failures been fixed so that such vile, reprehensible and inhuman acts can never occur again?
ACA NSW will be monitoring the NSW prosecution of this animal.
