Does CCS apply when services direct children to self-isolate?

Since 2 March 2022, household members (including children) can leave after their 7-days of self-isolation even though other household member(s) are infected with COVID due to the new NSW Public Health Order.

However, a number of early childhood education and care (ECEC) services may choose to deny children entry under Work Health and Safety regulation in order to protect all other children and staff.

If such services choose to do so, the Federal Department of Education has provided written clarification to ACA NSW that Child Care Subsidy (CCS) would still apply upon waiver of the gap fees for those affected children.

Should ACA NSW members require any further information or clarification, please contact the ACA NSW team on 1300 556 330 or nsw@childcarealliance.org.au.
