Family Assistance Legislation Amendment

Over the month of September our sector has featured prominently in the media and on the political radar. As you would expect, ACA has been extremely busy engaging with the Department of Education (DET) and our Federal Government politicians and stakeholders.

On Tuesday this week the Family Assistance Legislation Amendment (Cheaper Child Care) Bill 2022 was introduced to Parliament. This is the first step in passing the legislation that will provide a greater Child Care Subsidy (CCS) for all families, as promised by the Labor Party in the lead up to this year's federal election.

The introduction of this Bill has sparked even more conversations in the media around the workforce supply issues in our sector, with ACA and other stakeholders expressing their concern that more affordable access to learning learning services will exacerbate the workforce pressures on each individual service provider. This is an critical issue that we have relentlessly pressed the Federal Government to take action on.
