Beginning today (Wednesday, 15 December 2021), the NSW Government has further eased COVID restrictions. For early childhood education and care (ECEC) settings, they are:
- facemasks are no longer required indoors for fully COVID vaccinated individuals above the age of 12 years old (see Clauses 6-7 of the latest NSW Public Health (COVID-19 General) Order (No 2) 2021); and
- QR code check-ins are no longer required (see Clause 10 of the latest NSW Public Health (COVID-19 General) Order (No 2) 2021).
Contact tracing will still be conducted should any ECEC service be affected by COVID. Under those circumstances, services' normal sign-in and sign-out records will be required by the NSW Government in electronic form.
Please also note that the requirement for mandatory full COVID vaccinations for all ECEC services' employees by 8 November 2021 has not changed (see NSW Public Health (COVID-19 Vaccination of Education and Care Workers) Order 2021).
Should members of the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) NSW require any further information/clarification, please contact the ACA NSW team via 1300 556 330 or nsw@childcarealliance.org.au.
