ACA NSW has written to the NSW Attorney-General (the Hon Michael Daley MP) expressing how gutted our sector is with respect to the continuing delays with:
the extradition back to NSW of NSW/Australia's worst paedophile to stand trial for the 180 charges against 23 NSW children. (since August 2023); and
the sentencing of the murderer of early childhood educator Molly Ticehurst (since April 2024).
Protecting our children and our early childhood educators and teachers have always been paramount to us. And especially when both perpetrators confessed to their crimes, why are both cases facing more delays?
The milestone dates were to be 28 May 2026 (Queensland Court of Appeal) and 1-2 June 2026 (Orange Local Court) respectively.
On 11 June 2026, NSW Attorney-General Daley responded to ACA NSW to assure our sector that he has requested the extradition for that paedophile to stand trial in NSW.
