NSW Minister & Shadow Minister agree to public, open, online meetings with sector & parents

In anticipation of the NSW State Election on 25 March 2023, the NSW Minister for Education & Early Childhood Learning (the Hon Sarah Mitchell MLC) and the NSW Shadow Minister for Education & Early Childhood Learning (Prue Car MP) have agreed to engage with the NSW sector as well as parents:

  • NSW Minister on Tuesday, 7 March 2023, from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm via Zoom (REGISTER HERE)
  • NSW Shadow Minister on Thursday, 9 March 2023, from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm via Zoom (REGISTER HERE)

Both will describe the future of NSW's Early Childhood Education and Care should their respective political party be elected as the next NSW State Government.

Some of the many issues of interest to parents, educators and teachers and Approved Providers include:

  • How will NSW's future subsidies work for children and parents for up to 5 days/week?
  • What greater health and developmental checks of children will soon be trialled?
  • Where will the NSW subsidised new ECEC services be located?
  • Will there be more/less regulations?
  • What will be the future measurable outcomes of children?
  • ... and many more questions.

ACA NSW is encouraging services to post the flyer for the two public and online events on noticeboards and distribute to staff. Services should also distribute the flyer electronically to parents and families.

Registered participants will also be able to pose questions live to the NSW Minister and NSW Shadow Minister at their respective virtual town hall events.

Registered services as event participants can receive from ACA NSW deidentified and aggregated information (based on their local postcodes) of feedback received from participating parents as evidence for Quality Area 6 (Partnerships with Families and Communities) and Quality Area 7 (Leadership and Service Management).

THIS EVENT IS A FREE EVENT. IT WILL ALSO BE VIDEO RECORDED AND AVAILABLE AFTER THE TWO EVENTS.
