Possible clarification of ACECQA's A&R Changes

Australia's early childhood education and care services would have received ACECQA broadcast on 29 November 2022 in relation to their proposed changes in Assessment and Rating (A&R) beginning 2023.

To be clear, ACA NSW above all supports an A&R process whereby quality is measurable and consistent not just for the day(s) when A&R occurs but also all days following the A&R visits.

That said, especially in the context of the worsening labour shortages, ACA NSW is particularly concerned by ACECQA's following statements:

• “a shift to a shorter notice period of 1-5 days for most assessment and rating visits”;
• “Approved providers should ensure an up-to-date QIP (or Self-Assessment Working Document in NSW) is uploaded to the National Quality Agenda IT System portal or via any other jurisdiction specific submission process.”
