Vale Carol Burgess - a friend of and to ACA NSW

Early Childhood Australia's NSW Committee chair Carol Ann Burgess passed on 5 May 2026.

Carol and ACA NSW both served as members of the NSW Department of Education's Early Childhood Advisory Group since its inception.

Although many would focus on our differences, Carol actively and warmly engaged with ACA NSW's perspectives. Likewise, ACA NSW would similarly reciprocate, building consensus and trust wherever possible.

It would be safe to conclude that in our respective ways, we also became each other's advocates to others especially when it came to advancing children's outcomes through early childhood education and care.

ACA NSW CEO Chiang Lim attended Carol's memorial service and conveyed our members' condolences to her family, friends and colleagues.

We will remember Carol.
