As you know, the current Community Support Programme (CSP) assists childcare providers to establish or maintain viable services where they might not otherwise be viable or able to meet the unique requirements of the community, such as in disadvantaged or regional and remote areas.

As part of the Jobs for Families Child Care Package, the Community Support Programme (CSP) will cease on 1 July 2018. However, childcare services who are eligible can still attract funding until 30 June 2018.

The Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) is concerned that the CSP’s replacement, ie the Community Child Care Fund (CCCF) which starts on 1 July 2018 (see https://www.education.gov.au/community-child-care-fund), may discriminate against childcare providers who are eligible under the existing CSP.

The new Community Child Care Fund offers two grant opportunities:

1. Open competitive grant opportunity – to be eligible to apply under this grant opportunity you must be:

            * an approved provider of an approved child care service; AND
            * a not-for-profit organisation which is either:
               > seeking funding for an approved child care service operating in a priority area; OR
               > seeking funding for an approved child care service currently in receipt of funding under the department's Community Support Programme.

2. Restricted non-competitive grant opportunity – this will be available to specified services only, in particular services funded under the Budget Based Funded program that currently deliver, or intend to deliver, child care and will be transitioning to the Jobs for Families Child Care Package.

ACA NSW needs members' feedback to our survey as to whether you:

  • already receive existing CSP funding;
  • are eligible to receive CSP funding and will be applying before 30 June 2018; and
  • will be ineligible under the proposed criteria for CCCF from 1 July 2018 onwards.

Would you please urgently click here to complete the survey so that ACA can provide appropriate feedback and advocacy to the Federal Government’s public consultation (see https://www.education.gov.au/public-consultation-draft-community-child-care-fund-program-guidelines)? Thank you.
