Anticipated to be held on Saturday, 18 May 2019, the yet-to-be-called Federal Election sees Federal Members of Parliament engaging with everyone, including local early childhood education and care services.

Today (9 April  2019), the Federal Member for Cunningham, Sharon Bird MP, visited Stanwell Park Preschool. There she met approved provider Antoinette Holmes and the Australian Childcare Alliance NSW CEO Chiang Lim.

(L-R: Sharon Bird MP and Antoinette Holmes (R))

With a tour of this Exceeding rated service and the wonderful 25 children there playing, singing and engaging with the educators and teachers, Sharon, Antoinette and Chiang discussed Stanwell Park Preschool's successes and challenges. They included the joys of engaging with hundreds of children and making significant differences in their lives as they grow, develop and "graduate" to kindergarten and school. The challenges facing Stanwell Park Preschool that was shared with Sharon Bird MP included the continual changes to the National Quality Framework over the years, shortages of quality educators and teachers, the overburdensome of red tape, the unfairness of the Universal Access funding for long daycare compared to other states, and the upcoming problem of 3-year-old and 4-year-old preschool funding given the re-elected NSW Government's pre-disposition of funding arrangements for children at long daycare services.
