Activities: 

  • Story: read age-appropriate books about first aid and safety
  • First aid: introduce basic first aid to the children such as calling for help, applying band aids and bandages etc
  • Doctor role play: using props, encourage the children to practice their first aid and doctor knowledge on stuffed animals or dolls. 
  • Community helpers visit encourage the local paramedics to visit the childcare to discuss their work, and what they do to ensure the community is kept safe
