What is Restart a Heart Day?

Restart a heart day raises awareness about cardiac arrest and helps people learn about CPR, giving them lifesaving skills and the confidence to use them. This day reminds people that anyone can learn CPR skills and save a life in the event of a cardiac arrest.

Activities: 

• Story: read age-appropriate books about first aid and safety
• First aid: introduce basic first aid to the children such as calling for help, applying band aids and bandages etc
• Doctor role play: using props, encourage the children to practice their first aid and doctor knowledge on stuffed animals or dolls. 
  
• Community helpers visit encourage the local paramedics to visit the childcare to discuss their work, and what they do to ensure the community is kept safe
