As anticipated, the new NSW Regulatory Authority apparently will be called the NSW Early Learning Commission.
It will begin operations in December 2025 and report directly to the NSW Minister for Education and Early Learning and operate separately from the NSW Department of Education.
The NSW Regulatory Authority's 500+ employees will be transferred from the NSW Department of Education to the NSW Early Learning Commission. And its annual budget has been increased to $55m.
No doubt they will communicate directly with all early childhood education and care services across NSW in due course.
At this stage, ACA NSW remains unclear as to how this NSW Early Learning Commission will operate differently from the NSW Department of Education as the NSW Regulatory Authority.
