Starting 30 June 2017, in an industry first, Guild Insurance Limited (Guild) has partnered with the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) NSW to provide a workers’ compensation solution for early childhood education and care services across NSW.

Having worked together for many years to protect the needs of early childhood education and care centre owners and operators, leaders of the two organisations identified the need for a workers’ compensation solution focused on the specific needs of early childhood education and care.
According to Guild Insurance General Manager and Managing Director of Guild Early Learning, Paul Cassidy, the partnership with ACA NSW into workers compensation makes perfect sense.
“We’ve over four decades of experience insuring the early childhood education and care sector and as a workers compensation insurer to this and other industries across the country,” Mr Cassidy explains.
“ACA NSW has deep understanding of the early childhood education and care sector’s needs, so it made perfect sense to work together to deliver a specialised workers compensation solution for early childhood education and care centre operators across NSW and the workers and families that they serve.”
Mrs Lyn Connolly, ACA NSW President concurs, saying “Guild Insurance continues to be the ideal partner for us. Their intimate knowledge of our sector and workers compensation insurance provides an opportunity for us to align ourselves with a service provider who understands our people, understands our business and understands our needs. We are delighted to be involved in bringing a specialised offer to the sector that will improve our combined ability to meet the community’s expectation of reliable, quality early childhood education and care for children by reducing the incidence and duration that workers are unable to attend work following a workplace injury.”
This specialised workers compensation provider is called Guild Early Learning and it provides workers compensation insurance to employers who are mainly engaged in providing early childhood education and care services.
According to the State Insurance Regulatory Authority, “specialised insurers operate within limited defined industries, allowing them to offer targeted return to work and injury management programs.”
“We’re really excited to be working so closely with the ACA NSW and look forward to protecting the health and wellbeing of early learning and childcare workers across NSW,” Mr Cassidy said.
