FWC: Annual Wage to increase by 1.75%

The Fair Work Commission (FWC) has announced the outcome of the Annual Minimum Wage Review.

The awards will increase by 1.75%. As early childhood educators are deemed to be in Group 1, this increase will take effect on 1 July 2020. Please note that other industry sectors will have their wage increases delayed across FY2020/2021 (see the Fair Work Commission's video at the 10-minute mark outlining their rationale for the different dates of implementation of the annual wage increase for the different groups of industry sectors.)

In comparison to the increases in 2019 and 2018, this year's increase is about half the amount.

 

The Australian Childcare Alliance NSW will circulate the updated wage tables and the finer details regarding this increase as soon as they are available.
