What is Earth Day?

Earth Day is an annual event which is to raise awareness and appreciate the the environmental movement and raises awareness of the importance of protecting the earth and environment natural nature and recources for future generations.

What does Chinese Language Day?

Chinese Language Day celebrates and raises awareness for the importance of language, cultural diversity and multilingualism around the world each year. 

When is Chinese Language Day?

Thursday, 20 April 

Activities:

• Learning how to say hello and basic words in the chinese language (Learn Chinese for Kids - Numbers, Colors & More - Rock 'N Learn)
• Hosting an incursion with a Chinese speaking teacher to teach and introduce the children to the culture, songs and tradition. 
• Displaying the world map and learning about a differnet country each day; their language, traditional clothings, foods and culture.
• Inviting the children to come dressed in Chinese and other traditional clothing from around the world and sharing what they do as a family and the language their family speak at home.
• Setting out cultural diversity children books in book corner for the children to read, learn and ask questions.
• Idenity  the chinese flag and discuss what each colour represents. 
• Learning and listening to songs made in China and learning their cultural dance. 
• Invite children to participate in cooking experience in simple chinese reciepes.

What does Easter Sunday Celebrate? 

Easter Sunday commenorates the Resurrection of Jesus. On this day, Christians around the world gather together to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus through ritual liturgies, families and friends gathering together to break their Lenten fast on Sunday and celebrate a feast together. 

Families also set up fun activities to enterain the children with an Easter egg hunt and leaving out carrots for the Easter Bunny.

• Hosting and Easter Hat Parade! - Allows parents and their chilren to get creative at home and share their creativity with their peers at the parade.
• Plan an Easter Egg hunt for the children
• Invite children to participate in making Easter Cookies to take home. 
• Set up Easter Craft - Children to share their interest in painting or decorating an Easter egg or bunny.
• Hang their Easter egg creative art to decorate an Easter Egg Tree.
• Easter egg paper weaving activity
• Grouptime: Read Easter Children's Books and discussing the meaning of Easter Sunday.

International Day of Human Space Flight is the celebration of the the anniversary of the first human space flight by Yuri Gagarin.

Activities:

• Class Project - Invite the children to participate and help making a solar system to display in their classroom.
• Identify each planet and discuss why each planet is unique. 
• Build a rocketship out of cardboard boxes and get the children to role play being an astronaut.
• Reading stories about space. 
• Make straw rockets
