Eid

What is Eid?

Eid is a festival in the Islamic calendar marking the end of thhe month-long fast, Ramadan. The Eid celebration involved plenty of food, prayer and decorating the home, usually in large groups of family and friends. Prayer, also known as Salat is one of the five pillars of Islam. Muslims try to pray 5 times a day as they face Mecca each time. Muslims pray together at daybreak after Ramadan where the celebrations begin. Muslims also gather with their family and friends to share meals such as sweets, and hearty traditional dishes. Throughout this celebration, friends and families exchange presents with the greeting '"Eid Mubarak" which means ''blessed feast'.
