What is International Day of Families?

The International Day of Families recognises the importance of families worldwide, appreciating their love and support that they provide. Families use this day by spending time together and expressing gratitude for one another. International Day of Families is dedicated to celebrating the significance of families in our lives.

Activities:

  • Family Tree Craft: Encourage children to create their own family trees as a way to learn about their family history and celebrate their heritage.
  • Family Storytelling circle: Encourage children to gather and share stories and experiences with one another about their families. Each child can have a turn at storytelling a memory or family tradition.
  • Story time: Read a story to the children related to families
  • Family picnic: Organise a family picnic where children’s families can come together to enjoy quality time outdoors. Families are encouraged to bring food to share a meal together.
