What is International World Immunisation Week?

World Immunisation Week aims to highlight the need to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease. The Public health campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of vaccinations in preventing disease and promoting immunisation programs worldwide. It also emphasises the role of vaccines in saving lives and protecting individuals from infectious diseases.

Activities:

  • Group Time:  Discuss and read stories about how vaccines work and how they help in preventing diseases 
  • Create a craft experience which encourages the children to create posters about vaccinations 
  • Encourage the children to play doctors and nurses and pretend to administer vaccines to their dolls and stuffed animals
