Are you getting complaints from your families about receiving confusing or incorrect information from Centrelink staff about any element of the new Child Care Subsidy (for example 36 hour subsidy for 4-year olds)? You are not alone.

Please let your parents know that Federal Department of Education and Training has asked for specific information, in order to follow these complaints up and have them resolved.

Families will therefore need to ask for and take down:

  • the Centrelink staff member's name and ID number
  • the time and date of the call
  • the matter being discussed and what they were informed

NSW-based families can forward this information to their service providers, who can then talk to the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) NSW to engage to gain assistance/intervention.

Through member service providers, ACA NSW will also be asking families to provide:

  • the parent(s)' name(s) and CRN(s);
  • their child(ren)'s name(s), CRN(s) and date of birth(s);
  • their residential address; and
  • the parent(s)' contact details (ideally mobile number and e-mail address).

ACA NSW will also leverage assistance from the family's local Federal Member of Parliament's electorate staff to assist as well.

For any further information, please contact ACA NSW on 1300 556 330 or nsw@childcarealliance.org.au.
