The last four days have seen the greatest amount of rain since 1990. A number of NSW-based early childhood education and care services may be affected.

The Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) NSW members are reminded to consider their Emergency and Evacuation Procedures Policy if you have been affected by the floods. Members can download the latest template version (October 2019) via the ACA NSW website's member section.

Last month, ACA NSW wrote to the NSW Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning (the Hon Sarah Mitchell MLC) and the NSW Minister for Police and Emergency Services (the Hon David Elliott MP) for their consideration to include early childhood education and care services when declaring to shut down public schools during local emergencies. ACA NSW will again write to them to seek the same about floods.

ACA NSW members are also encouraged to take as many photos as possible for insurance purposes should you be affected by the floods. And should ACA NSW members experience any difficulties with Guild Insurance (via online or 1800 810 213), please do not hesitate to contact ACA NSW for intervention.

Unfortunately, the ACA NSW office has also been negatively hit by the floods and all our telephone lines have been temporarily cut. However, we are available via e-mail (nsw@childcarealliance.org.au) should you need any assistance.
