Tips on Expanding / Renovating ECEC Centres 2023

The ACA NSW Quickies are only 2 hours or less and held throughout the year in face-to-face, live webinar and video-on-demand formats. They are for Approved Providers, Owners, Directors and Nominated Supervisors with industry-specific information, advice, tips and even “tricks”.


Developed jointly with Design Cubicle, this ACA NSW Quickie will help you understand the planning, building, local government and other regulatory requirements in anticipation of renovating and/or expanding your new early childhood education and care centre to ensure its educational, operational and financial success.


The topics to be covered in the 2023 ACA NSW Quickies – Tips on Expanding/Renovating ECEC Centres are:


  • What are the new/emerging design trends and how do they benefit early childhood education and care services and their children?
  • How to expand/renovate centres so that they are COVIDsafe?
  • What are the benefit vs cost “sweet spots”?
  • Can the expansion/renovation be future proofed as much as possible?

Your Presenters:

Farah Georges is the Principal of Design Cubicle. He started his career as a draftsman in some of the most prestigious firms in Sydney before opening his office (Design Effects) and followed by Skyton Developments. He established Design Cubicle in 2006. He is a member of the Building Designers Association (#6006) and is registered with NSW Fair Trading as a Design Practitioner (DEP00002168).

Chiang Lim is the CEO of the Australian Childcare Alliance NSW. He brings over 20 years of professional industry advocacy, organisational and business administrator, political agitator, entrepreneur and solutions seeking. His experiences include not-for-profit industry associations, information technology, telecommunications, defence, national and international standards development, human rights, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), local governments, and early childhood education and care.
