It was a pleasure to reconnect with the Federal Attorney-General, the Hon Mark Dreyfus KC MP, again especially after his (and the Federal Minister for Early Childhood Education, the Hon Dr Anne Aly MP) assistance to ACA NSW in clarifying the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse's recommendation (and ACECQA's factsheet (dated October 2023)) that related children's records are to be kept for at least 45 years.
The Federal Attorney-General was also interested in ACA NSW's work with respect to preventing a repeat of Australia's worst paedophile charged with 1,623 child sexual assaults against 91 children.

He has assured ACA NSW that while he is still considering the existing child safety framework, he is appreciating the operational and technological consequences, as well as the magnifying cybersecurity risks and consequences that will impact early childhood education and care services.
ACA NSW is looking forward to working with the Federal Attorney-General to ensure that all children and their families can faithfully have and rely on consistent and effective child protection infrastructure and processes that support and regulate all early childhood education and care services.
