What does Spanish Language Day?
Spanish Language Day celebrates and raises awareness for the importance of language, cultural diversity and multilingualism around the world each year.
This day reminds us the importance of different languages spoken around the world, culture and it's history is learnt and remains to not fade out.
When is Spanish Language Day?
Sunday, 23th April
Activities:
- Learning how to say hello and basic words in the Spanish language (Learn Spanish for Kids - Numbers, Colors & More - Rock 'N Learn)
- Hosting an incursion with a Spanish speaking teacher to teach and introduce the children to the culture, songs and tradition.
- Displaying the world map and learning about a different country each day; their language, traditional clothings, foods and culture.
- Inviting the children to come dressed in Spanish and other traditional clothing from around the world and sharing what they do as a family and the language their family speak at home.
- Setting out cultural diversity children books in book corner for the children to read, learn and ask questions.
- Idenity the Spanish and discuss what each colour represents.
- Learning and listening to songs made in Spain and learning their cultural dance.
- Invite children to participate in cooking experience in simple Spanish recipes.
