International Youth Day

What is International Youth Day?

International Youth Day is held annually to celebrate the qualities of young people and raises awareness for the challenges that they may face. Organised by the United Nations, the aim was to celebrate the contribution young people make in education, employment, conflict resolution etc.

When is International Youth Day?

Monday, August 12

Activities: 

• Youth Talent Show: Host a talent show where children can showcase their talents and skills.
• Story Time: Read a story to the children that highlight themes of friendship, cooperation, and kindness.
• Art and Craft: Children can create an artwork that represents their dreams for the future or what they want to be when they grow up.
  
• Group Time:  Have a discussion with the children that will empower and encourage them to play a role in their own future.
