Update on the Approved Providers' Approval Process & Test

ACECQA had announced that beginning March 2022, all Regulatory Authorities will assess the suitability of those seeking to become an Approved Provider or existing providers seeking to expand.


In NSW, the NSW Department of Education's Enhanced Approvals Process had been in operation since late 2016. Hence, the key changes for NSW in the assessment process will be as follows:


  Late 2016 to early 2022  From March 2022 onwards 
The "test"
  • Mainly in NSW
  • All jurisdictions across Australia
Format
  • 1 scenario question
  • 3 multiple-choice questions
  • 3 short answer questions
  • 1 long answer question
  • 48 multiple-choice questions
Resources
  • Can bring into the assessment room only a hardcopy of the National Law and National Regulations
  • Cannot bring in anything
  • Will have access to a supplied computer with PDF copies of the National Law and National Regulations available
Duration
  • 1-1.5 hours
  • 2 hours
Results
  • If fail, letter will help explain why the applicant failed.
  • Letter only advises pass or fail.
