Breaches and Compliances Clinic

For 2022, the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) NSW has updated and expanded its Quickies series of short but to the point presentations that help existing and new providers.

The ACA NSW Quickies are only 2 hours or less and held throughout the year in face-to-face, live webinar and video-on-demand formats. They are for Approved Providers, Owners, Directors and Nominated Supervisors with industry-specific information, advice, tips and even “tricks”.

The ACA NSW Quickies – Breaches and Compliances Clinic has been designed as an Open Forum - giving all attendees an opportunity to ask questions, provide specific examples, seek feedback and ideas,  and obtain advice and practical techniques to avoid, challenge and respond to allegations of breaches or non-compliances.  It is a unique opportunity to obtain specific advice for your particular service and circumstances.

The kinds of questions that will be posed are:

  • What are the main examples of breaches/non-compliances that Authorised Officers are currently looking at?
  • Could an Authorised Officer issue a breach/non-compliance that is technically false?
  • How do I obtain details of the evidence/proof that is relied upon by the Department in relation to the allegations?
  • How do I access my own alleged breaches/non-compliance notifications?
  • Is "guided compliance" a way for the Authorised Officers to not record a breach/non-compliance?
  • How do you go about challenging a breach/non-compliance notification?

This clinic session is designed for Approved Providers and staff to ask questions and raise any issues, based on their experience of breaches/non-compliances. This clinic aims to equip you to know how to respond to a breach/non-compliance and to avoid them in the future.
