The Federal Minister for Education, the Hon Dan Tehan MP, has today announced that the Federal Government will continue to ensure quality child care for Australian families.

The Government will provide $46 million (ie $15.3m per year for three years from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2023) to support the delivery of nationally consistent and high-quality early childhood education and care under the National Quality Framework through the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).

Minister Tehan said the Government’s funding commitment was informed by an independent review commissioned by Education Council to ensure ACECQA remained ‘fit for purpose’.
