World Water Day

What is World Water Day?

Held 22 March every year, World Water Day is an annual UN observance highlighting the importance of freshwater. The day itself celebrates water, and raises awareness of the billions of people worldwide who cannot access safe water. The core focus for World Water Day is to support the achievement of the UN's sustainable development goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030 to ensure everybody has access to safe water. The theme for World Water Day 2024 is - Leveraging Water for Peace.
