Calling for volunteers: Aboriginal Culture & Early Childhood Education

In anticipation of the NSW Government's efforts in increasing the number of Aboriginal young people reaching their learning potential (especially from early childhood education onwards), the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) NSW is calling for volunteers with relevant expertise to assist in the Government's priorities.

Under the auspices of the ACA NSW Executive Committee (aka the board), this new Sub-Committee of skilled and knowledgeable educators will assist ACA NSW in developing its advice and proposals through its regular dialogue with the NSW Department of Education and the NSW Government.

As much as there is great value of early childhood education and care for young Aboriginal children, it is equally important to also leverage how Aboriginal culture as well as their own experiences and expertise can positively inform and advance early childhood education and care.

While reasonably autonomous, it is envisaged that this ACA NSW Sub-Committee will meet at least once every two months beginning in late January 2022.
