Future ACA NSW membership form will also facilitate the opt-out choice for members.

In the meantime, ACA NSW will continue to not provide members' individual information to any third parties, as required under the Privacy Act 1988. However, ACA NSW reserves the right to indicate to our partner suppliers/providers if a service is an ACA NSW member.

Notwithstanding the update received from the NSW Department of Education on 8 September 2020, the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) NSW is strongly suggesting that members use the list of deep cleaners below which the NSW Government themselves use. ACA NSW has also collated pricing, commercial and compliance information so that using the information below will save members' time and provide potentially the level of assurance that the deep cleaning conducted by these providers will meet the NSW Department of Health.

The providers below is based on the NSW Government's Emergency Cleaning Stimulus Prequalification Scheme (SCM8971) list of prequalified deep cleaning providers dated 11 August 2020. Please note that ACA NSW members can use the above list to determine their nearest cleaning provider before considering their corresponding pricing (most likely ex GST), commercial and compliance information which are provided below.

What is Yom Kippur?

Yom Kippur is a Jewish holiday. It is also called the "Day of Atonement" and is considered to be the holiest day of the year for Jewish people.

It is celebrated at the end of the High Holy Days, ten days after Rosh Hashanah. This occurs sometime during the months of September or October.

This day is a very serious day for Jewish people. They must fast, meaning that they do not eat or drink. They are also not allowed to work. They spend a good deal of the day praying and attending services at the synagogue. The day has five official prayer services.
 
The main thing Jewish people do on this day is ask God for forgiveness of their sins. This is called Teshuvah or repentance.

When is Yom Kippur?

24-25 September

Activities: 

  • Children to come to school in wearing something white - Most people celebrate Yom Kippur by wearing white.
  • Invite and plan a festive meal witthe children and educators to gather for lunch or for afternoon tea.
  • Read Jonah and the Great Big Fish by Rhonda Gowler Greene which tales the story of Jonah in simple to follow rhyme: “God told Jonah to obey, said, ‘Go to Nineveh this day.’ But, stubborn Jonah fled instead. Didn’t do just what God said.”
